Cover starts from the day you take out a policy. You can purchase Dream Wedding Insurance no less than 30 days and no more than 18 months prior to the wedding day. The policy coverage will cease at the completion of the wedding event.

Yes. Dream Wedding Insurance provides overseas wedding insurance. We will cover weddings taking place anywhere in the world. Section 9, Personal Liability is excluded for overseas weddings. Please refer to page 10 of the policy wording.

Generally, couples will choose a level of cover based on their total outlay/budget. This way, if the worst were to happen and everything had to be cancelled/rescheduled, you would not be left out of pocket.

Claims can be lodged online on the how-to-claim page or by emailing claims@dreamweddinginsurance.com. You’ll then be contacted by the claims team to finalise your claim.

Personal liability insurance (sometimes referred to as public liability) will cover you for the cost of compensation against your legal liability for injuries or damage to other people or property. Please read the policy wording for policy limitations and exclusions.

You are covered if your wedding is cancelled due to specified events listed in the policy. If any of the specified events occur, you may have to pay for suppliers or goods that you’ve booked but cannot use. Under this cover, you would be able to claim for these costs. Please refer to the policy wording for the list of specific events that are covered against cancellation of the wedding.

No. This insurance is for the wedding event only.

You are covered up to the limits detailed in the policy wording. You can increase the level of cover up to 30 days before the wedding, you will need to pay the additional premium. Simply email info@dreamweddinginsurance.com and request an upgrade.

Each claim is assessed individually and our objective is to settle all claims as quickly as possible. We seek to resolve claims within 7 days.

Yes! Providing any event causing the cancellation of the wedding occurs after 30 days from the date of policy purchase. Please read the policy wording for limitations and exclusions.

No, the full premium must be paid at the commencement of the policy.

Cancellation costs incurred by either party deciding not to go ahead with the wedding will not be paid. Please read the policy wording for limitations and exclusions.

Yes. You can cancel the policy within the 14 day cooling off period provided that no claim has arisen. We will cancel the policy and give you a full refund of your premium.

If a weather-related event causes the curtailment or cancellation of your wedding, then cover is provided subject to limitations and exclusions. Please refer to Sections 1 and 2, on page 6 of the policy wording for limitations and exclusions.

Yes, this policy can be purchased for civil partnership ceremonies.

Yes, we cover visa holders, temporary residents and permanent residents.

If either you or your partner are an Australian resident, then you are eligible to purchase a policy

Cover is provided if the illness or injury of the bride, groom or immediate family member causes the cancellation or curtailment of the wedding. Please refer to Section 1, page 6 of the Policy Wording for exclusions and limitations.

This policy does not cover pre-existing medical conditions of the bride, groom or immediate family members.

We cover non-refundable deposits for lost goods or services should your wedding suppliers fail to meet their contractual obligations. Please refer to Section 5, page 8 on the Policy Wording for exclusions and limitations.

Yes, we provide coverage against accidental damage to hired equipment including marquees. Please refer to Section 7, page 9 on the Policy Wording for exclusions and limitations.

This policy covers the cost of repair or replacement of clothing or accessories that are damaged or stolen while in the possession of the Bride, Groom and/or immediate family members and/or members of the bridal party. Please refer to Section 3, page 7 on the Policy Wording for exclusions and limitations.

A Certificate of Insurance will be provided via email immediately following your policy purchase.

Yes, subject to a maximum sum insured under your chosen level of cover. Please refer to Section 3, page 7 of the policy wording for exclusions and limitations.

Yes, we will cover wedding gifts including gift certificates and money, up to the limit outlined in the policy wording.

We will cover any pre paid fees and additional costs incurred in arranging alternative flowers. Please refer to Section 5 – Supplier Failure, page 8 on the Policy Wording for exclusions and limitations.

An Australian resident is a person who is living in Australia and is either an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or visa holder or a protected Special Category Visa (SCV) holder

Yes. Liability insurance up to $5,000,000 is included as standard in every policy that we offer. Personal Liability insurance is not covered for overseas weddings. Please refer to Section 9, page 10 on the Policy Wording for exclusions and limitations.

Generally speaking, when a venue requests that you purchase public or personal liability, they want to insure that you are covered, from a legal standpoint, against third party property damage and/or injury. For this instance, personal liability and public liability are the same thing. Ask your venue for clarification if there is any doubt.

The insurance is underwritten by certain underwriters at Lloyd’s of London. Lloyd’s of London is the world’s leading specialist insurance and reinsurance market.

Pre-existing medical conditions are excluded and you will not be able to make a claim under the policy. Please refer to the Pre-Existing Medical conditions definition on page 12 on the Policy Wording.

Yes. Bare in mind that there will be no coverage for Personal Liability if your wedding is taking place outside of Australia.

No. As with most insurance policies, there is a general exclusion applicable for any instances involving a terrorist attack. Please refer to General Exclusion 10 on page 13 of the Policy Wording.
